If it's a desktop just unplug it from the power source. Unplug any devices, including the following: Speakers Printers Scanners Other USB devices except the keyboard Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) USB flash drive or other external storage devices Make sure the area I changed out the memory, hard drive, and was almost ready to resort a Motherboard or CPU defaut error. I was able to fix the problem when it popped up in the middle of my son's very important Minecraft game! It tried googling and many different tips (upgrade chipset drivers, uninstall keyboard driver, mess w/ BIOS, disable tablet mode) none of which worked. Eventually after several resets, it worked. I just upgraded to Windows 10, and for some reason the filter keys were on. If you’ve ever tried to use your num pad and ended up scrolling as if you were using arrows, you’ve probably turned your num lock off.
