Worked for me. You will know that you need to do this because instead of showing as "Healthy" (as in the screen shots above) the dirve will show "Unitialized/Unallocated." You can remedy this following How can I solve this problem?

Please someone help on this and save my data. I finally figured out that I needed to plug-in it into an additional 2nd USB port so that I guess it received enough power. I tried everything. The pc could see the drive but said it needed formatting.

I really DONT want to do that, for theres some vital data inside, which's recovering is a hard task in itself. In Disk management you can see the device appear and the disappear every 30 seconds or so. I had solved my problem. I even went as far as to change the drive letter in Vista, making it something that would never have been used on the XP desktop (T:) and still cannot see
