We have to shut it down, plug it in, then start it up to get the screen back to the original brightness. On the following image only the left side of the screen is working properly. First of all, I would check if the video cable on the back of the LCD screen makes a good connection with the screen. What about external video, is it bad too? It seems you won't be able to prevent this behaviour then.
